Iran's official news agency says Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has made a brief stop in Tehran on way to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly's session.
IRNA says General Musharraf was to meet with Iran's Vice President Mohammad Reza to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
Pakistan supports U-S military strikes against Taleban and al-Qaida targets in Afghanistan. Iran has denounced the military moves but condemned the September 11th terrorist attacks in the United States.
Iran is also opposed to the Taleban Islamic movement that gained power in Afghanistan with apparent help from Pakistan.
Later today (Wednesday), General Musharraf is due to meet with French President Jacques Chirac in Paris. He is also due to make a brief stop in London before traveling to New York, where he is scheduled to meet with President Bush.
