Pakistani Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz says the volume of commercial traffic between Pakistan and Afghanistan has gone up substantially in recent days.
Mr. Aziz told reporters in Islamabad today (Saturday) that around 240-thousand dollars (14-million rupees) worth of goods is being transported to Afghanistan daily through the Torkham and Chaman border posts in northern and southwestern Pakistan.
He says a third border post for trade between the two countries will be opened at Gholamkhan Kalay, about 300-kilometers south of Peshawar.
Mr. Aziz says Afghan banks in Pakistan and Pakistani banks in Afghanistan will be reopened to boost business activity between the two countries.
