F.B.I. Offers to Help Tajik Security Fight International Terrorism - 2002-02-22

The U-S Federal Bureau of Investigation has offered to aid Tajik security forces in their fight against international terrorism.

Senior F-B-I officials met Thursday with Tajik deputy interior minister Abdurakhim Kakharov, to discuss counter-terrorist operations in the central Asian republic bordering Afghanistan.

The F-B-I team may propose to help train and equip Tajik security personnel so they can better deal with religious extremists and terrorism suspects in the Central Asian country.
